Shanghai Fengxian Processing Facility is situated in Shanghai Fengxian Agriculture Development Zone, and was built at the end of 2000. It is the model base where Gaorong transformed the inefficient traditional vegetable planting into modern high-tech planting and realized agricultural industrialization. Nowadays in Fengxian base, Gaorong grows, processes and exports vegetables and mushrooms overseas, meanwhile undertakes the task of supplying clean vegetables to Shanghai market, which makes this base the leader in the supply of export vegetables in Shanghai in the winter months.

The Fengxian base is located in Fengxian District in Southeast Shanghai, 45 minutes away from the Shanghai Port. The region where the Fengxian is located has an average annual rainfall of 1100~1300 millimeters and an average annual accumulative sunshine time of 1800~2000 hours. The sand soil and temperate climate provide the Fengxian base with the ideal conditions to grow vegetables in the winter. Gaorong introduces quality seeds from Japan, and combines Japan's agricultural technologies with its own planting expertise to grow broccoli, shallot, spinach, cabbage, cauliflower and other produces in the Fengxian base under Gaorong's principles of greenness, environmental protection, quality and efficiency. Supply of vegetables from the Fengxian base lasts from October to May.

TThere are 25,000 acres of planting fields in the Fengxian base, including 8,000 acres of Gaorong-operating farms and 17,000 acres of contracted farms. The Fengxian base also has 200 green houses, a factory covering 35 acres, processing workshops covering 450 square meters and a refrigerated warehouse covering 4,250 square meters. The total investment is 18 million Yuan RMB. Moreover, the factory is equipped with a state-of-the-art pesticide residual check instrument (Agilent 6890 series gas phase chromatographic instrument), packaging and production lines and vacuum precooling system imported from Japan.

In early 2003, the Fengxian base utilized its farm resources to cultivate vegetables and grow vegetables and fruit meeting domestic needs. So far, in this base supply of fresh vegetables and fruit to supermarkets in Shanghai and the surrounding areas is well under way. In May 2003, Gaorong opened fresh food chain stores in Shanghai and certain other cities. Gaorong's development turned a new page and is destined to advance into a more brilliant tomorrow.
